The Mornington Peninsula Shire and the MPRG acknowledge that this program is generously supported by ADFAS Mornington Peninsula.

The program will start with a short introductory artist talk in the Gallery and be followed by a workshop at Beleura House and Garden where you will explore, paint and experiment with shapes and pattern making.

The Beleura shuttle bus will pick up from MPRG at 4.15pm and return at approx. 5.45pm. Light refreshments will be served on arrival at Beleura so please indicate if your child has food allergies at the time of booking. All workshop materials will be supplied on the day.

Please bring an apron or protective clothing as we will be painting outdoors (weather permitting). We encourage all abilities to attend and it is important to book ahead as numbers are limited.

Yuria Okamura grew up in Japan before coming to Australia for a Year 11 schools exchange program where she attended high school in Frankston. It was here where she developed a love for the outdoors and a passion for nature, which, over time has reflected in her arts practice. The geometric shapes that appear in her works are not only derived from the natural world, but from religion, architecture and decoration.

Yuria is a Melbourne-based artist whose practice encompasses drawing, painting and installation. Okamura holds an MFA (Research) from the University of Melbourne and a BFA (Honours) from RMIT University. She has been awarded Australia Council Career Development Grant, Stuart Black Memorial Scholarship, Ursula Hoff Institute Drawing Award, Lloyd Rees Memorial Youth Art Award and many other travelling scholarships and residencies. Yuria has exhibited both nationally and internationally and her work has been featured in international magazines, including Fukt (Germany) and Create Magazine (USA).
