MPRG local focus: Beverley Meldrum

Beverley is Wirangu (SA) through her father’s side of the family. Bev was born in South Australia and moved to the Mornington Peninsula thirty years ago.

Beverley is an emerging artist who enjoys working with a wide variety of mediums including ceramics, timber, stone and kelp. This exhibtion features a selection of stunning jewellery that highlight the unique forms of dried kelp.

Her work has been featured at the Darwin Aboriginal Art Fair, Tarnanthi Art Fair Adelaide, Fremantle Arts Centre and Koorie Heritage Trust.

Beverley was recently a finalist in the 2022 Victorian Craft Awards and awarded the Encouragement Award supported by the Australian Decorative and Fine Arts Society for her Kelp necklace.
