Nerdudara/Djumi (Then/Now) 10+1 is a retrospective reflection of the history of grass roots beginnings to incorporation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creativity and knowledge which has developed into Baluk Arts – an Aboriginal Art Centre based in Mornington. 2020 marked the 10th  anniversary of Baluk Arts, celebrations of which were unfortunately overshadowed by Covid-19. Nerdudara Djumi 10+1 is Baluk Arts resistance call to this; their persistence call.

Nerdudara Djumi are words from the Taungurung language in the Kulin Nation meaning Then Now, these words detail the connection of the artists over the 10+1 years to Baluk Arts - from the past to now. It is a celebration of the achievements of the Baluk artists which this exhibition will be showcasing, works from past members to new works from current members. Also featuring a new commissioned work for past and present artists to work on and to bring all together again for Nerdudara Djumi.
