New Wave 22
New Wave 22 is an important addition to the MPRG exhibition program, showcasing the creative ideas of a new generation of artists as they take their place in our rich and vibrant creative community on the Mornington Peninsula.
New Wave 22 is open to all VCE Art and Studio Arts students from Government, Catholic and Independent schools within the Mornington Peninsula Shire.
The exhibition selection panel will consist of MPRG Education Officer, Jill Anderson, MPRG Gallery Director, Danny Lacy and leading Mornington Peninsula based artist, Vera Möller.

INFORMATION FOR STUDENTS:
All entries must be submitted online. No hard copy entries will be accepted.
Artists can only submit one work.
Works may be created in any medium.
VCE Art and Studio Arts students from Government, Catholic and Independent schools within the Mornington Peninsula Shire.
All artworks must have been created in 2021
Works will be selected that demonstrate a high level of achievement against the relevant study assessment criteria.
In 150 words or less students should address the ideas, themes or concepts investigated in their 2021 Art or Studio Arts practice and explain how this relates to the work submitted.
Statements to be submitted as a Word doc formatted in 12 point Arial.
Please note selected artist statements will be used within the exhibition and for promotion of the exhibition. MPRG has the right to edit statements as necessary.
You may submit up to two high res JPEG format, 300dpi 2-3MB images.
One image must represent the work in its entirety, showing scale if appropriate. This image must demonstrate how the work will be displayed.
You may submit a second image showing details.
* If you are submitting a film, please upload a still image in your online entry, then upload the film file to Dropbox, copy link and send to firstname.lastname@example.org
Ensure your film file is saved as per naming convention below.
Naming your Word doc, image and film files
All images and Word documents must be titled in the following format:
artist last name_first name_title of document:
eg. Patricia_Piccinini_artist statement
eg. Patricia_Piccinini_self portrait
(Please do not use any other symbols in your file name such as commas or ampersands as files may not be processed correctly.)
Framed works will be displayed using D-rings or hung off wire.
Unframed works will be displayed using pins or magnetic ‘pins’.
Students should supply instructions with their work where possible.
There is no size restrictions for entry, but please note that display wall height is 3.8 metres.
Shortlisted works and the accompanying folio/s must be available for continuous display from 5 March – 22 May 2022
Please note that substitutes for works selected for exhibition will not be displayed.
MPRG reserves the right to withdraw shortlisted works if deemed unsuitable for display.
Packing and Transport
It is the responsibility of the shortlisted artists to organise packing and transport of their work and folio/s to and from MPRG by 24 February. All works must be in sound condition upon arrival. Due care will be taken whilst the works are at MPRG.

The selection panel's decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
