FMPRG Committee

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join the committee of one of the largest membership groups on the Mornington Peninsula, the Friends of the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (FMPRG).

FMPRG is an incorporated association that supports the MPRG’s exhibitions as well as acquisitions for its significant permanent collection. Through its events and activities the FMPRG annually donates $30,000 to our gallery plus acquisitions of $10,000 every two years through the National Works on Paper exhibition.

We are delighted that Barry Humphries, AO CBE and Susan McCulloch, OAM are patrons of FMPRG.

Benefits of joining the FMPRG Committee:

  1. Work alongside people who are passionate about the arts and broaden your social circle

  2.  Organise events with artists, curators and leading figures in the arts. Recent FMPRG-organised events have included talks with artist Jon Cattapan, Director of the National Gallery of Australia Gerard Vaughan and the Director of The Australian Ballet, David McAllister.

  3. Support the proposal for a redevelopment of the major cultural destination on the Mornington Peninsula and be involved in decisions that impact the local community

  4. Raise the profile of the MPRG through developing relationships with key stakeholders e.g. councillors, chambers of commerce, retailers, libraries and other arts and culture organisations

  5. Work with local schools to promote the MPRG by delivering the annual Friends Art Award

  6. Leadership opportunities available for active members

  7. Develop a greater understanding of how a gallery operates
