ABOUT TICKETING:

TIMED ENTRY
Timed entry is every 45 minutes from 10am up until 1pm, and every hour thereafter. The last timed ticket you can purchase is 4pm, which allows you to enter at any time up until 5.30 pm. The Gallery will close at 6pm.

Please arrive a few minutes before your entry time and if the session before you is not fully booked, you may be able to access the exhibition early. If you would like to view the exhibition for longer than the suggested 45 minutes, we encourage you to book an afternoon session.

ON-SITE TICKETING
Tickets may be purchased on site at the ticket booth on the Gallery forecourt. Please note the allocation of tickets varies between sessions and availability cannot be guaranteed. We strongly encourage you to pre-purchase your tickets online to avoid disappointment.

FLEXIBLE ENTRY TICKET
A flexible entry ticket allows you the freedom to enter the exhibition at any time, between 10am – 5.30pm on the day you purchased your ticket for. Please note that this does not allow you priority entry and that you may need to queue at busy times, but you can be a little more relaxed regarding drive-time or lunching!

There are a limited number of flexible entry tickets available on any one day, so we encourage you to book well in advance. Note, there is one price point of $26 per person for flexible entry tickets.

WHEN TO VISIT?
Traditionally, the exhibition is at its peak visitation between 10:45am to 3pm. If you want to experience the exhibition in a quieter period, we recommend that you come after 4pm.

At 3.15pm on weekdays (Tuesday to Friday) there will be a free 20-minute exhibition floor talk in the Gallery. This is an opportunity to learn more about the history of the Archibald Prize, key facts and figures in the 2023 presentation, some of the notable winners over the years and a few snippets of information that you wouldn’t necessarily know about some of the portraits on display!
