Anne Ferran: Intimate Journals
UNCOVER STORIES WITHIN THE PAGES OF THE BUNDANON LIBRARY
A Bundanon Trust touring exhibition
21 September – 18 November
Anne Ferran spent over a year working with the collection of Boyd family books in the Bundanon Library, searching for hidden notes in the margins and items slipped between pages. This Bundanon Trust commission reflects upon the Homestead and the people who inhabited it over time. It is characteristic of Ferran’s images that the subject is not what is seen but rather what haunts it.
Anne Ferran’s photographic and video works have explored histories of incarceration in prisons, asylums, hospitals and nurseries. She has worked extensively with museum collections, photographic archives and historic sites in Australia and New Zealand. Her work is held in major public collections in Australia and internationally.
