2 March – 29 April 2018

Melbourne-based artist Jon Campbell references Australian colloquialisms and uses graphic design and typography to turn everyday language and slang into text-based paintings. Campbell's works takes the form of paintings, prints, artist books, neon, banners and flags which include his now iconic Yeah flag.

To coincide with the touring exhibition, Play on: The art of sport, MPRG is presenting a collection of works by Campbell that reference aspects of our passionate sporting culture.

Campbell was the winner of the 2012 Basil Sellers Art Prize with his work Dream team, a series of 22 paintings featuring the nicknames of well-known AFL players.
