A Walk Through with Locals

In this new series we invited local Mornington Peninsula residents to walk through the gallery and talk about what they thought or felt when looking at artworks in the MPRG collection.

 

Dot is a resident of Peninsula Grange Aged Care and a member of MPRG’s Art & Imagination group. In this heart warming video, she takes a walk through the gallery with her carer Natalie and they discuss what they think about two works in the MPRG collection, by artists Suzanne Archer and Barbara Grosman.

 

Join locals Rachel and Karen on a walk through of an exhibition featuring women artists in the MPRG collection. Rachel lives in Mornington and hosts a weekly radio show on RPPfm 98.7 (Radio Port Phillip), every Friday 1-3pm, with a focus on local arts, music, food, books and theatre. Karen lives in Somerville with her four children and two dogs and loves walking, snowboarding and cooking. Together, they discuss works by Katherine Hattam, Mary Macqueen and Dorothy Braund in the MPRG collection.

 

Jenny and Patsie are both relative new comers to Mornington, Patsie having worked in both the corporate world in London and on a farm in Germany relocated about 6 years ago and Jenny, a pharmacist, moved here from Gippsland around the same time. They recently met at the Mornington Probus group and together have enjoyed discovering the Peninsula. Patsie lived near the Tate Modern in London and would pop in to see the exhibitions regularly, Jenny lives with an artist and pops out to her garden regularly! Join these two new friends as they discover the work of Susan Fereday and, at the same time, learn more about each other!
