Calling all Mornington Peninsula VCE, VCE VET and VCE VM art and design students!

Entries are now open for New Wave 27, our student exhibition celebrating the talent and creativity of student artists from Government, Catholic and Independent schools across the Mornington Peninsula Shire.

Students have the opportunity to be exhibited in a major regional gallery and to experience what it is like to be part of a group exhibition with a large audience of visitors. They will liaise with MPRG staff to have their work installed, enjoy an exhibition opening and have the opportunity for their work promoted on MPRG’s print and digital channels.

New Wave 27 is an important addition to the MPRG exhibition program, showcasing the creative ideas of a new generation as they take their place in our rich and vibrant creative community on the Mornington Peninsula.

All media is welcome, including photography, drawing, painting, sculpture, textiles, mixed media, ceramics, film and printmaking.

Applications are open to students studying VCE, VCE VET and VCE VM creative studies in 2026.

Entries close Sunday 8 November 2026.

PLEASE NOTE: NEW WAVE 27 WILL TAKE PLACE DURING OUR WINTER PERIOD.

ALL ARTWORKS MUST BE DELIVERED TO MPRG Wednesday 28 – Friday 30 April 2027 IN GOOD CONDITION

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

By submitting this form the artist confirms that the entry is of their own original works completed in 2026. The artwork must not infringe upon any third-party copyright, that is copying of other artists’ work. MPRG will not be held responsible for any correspondence or hold liability if the artist breaches this condition.

Delivery of Artwork

  • When delivered the work must be clearly labelled with the title and artist’s name
  • The work must be delivered ready to hang or exhibit (please include any necessary instructions and display supports)
  • Artwork will be installed by MPRG. Artists will be contacted for assistance if the work is complex to install.
  • Delivery and pick-up of artwork is the responsibility of the artist. If the artist is unable to deliver or pick up the work, please arrange for someone to do this on your behalf.
  • Artwork not collected by 19 August 2027 will be given to a local charity.

Promotion

• Artworks, artist's names and artist's statements will be used as promotional material for New Wave – if there are any reasons that you or the entrant under your guardianship can’t be identified publicly, please let us know on the entry form.

• New Wave is widely promoted; however artists are encouraged to further promote the exhibition through their social media and networks. Please add the MPRG hashtag #newwave27 and #mprg_vic
