Zoë Croggon: Deep Cuts

Zoe Croggan, Dive #4 2013

An MPRG exhibition

12 May - 9 July

Melbourne-based artist Zoë Croggon presents a series of stunning collages that splice together the human body with the natural landscape and built environment. Croggon has developed a unique style incorporating scanned found photographs and sharp juxtaposition of contrasting images. Guided by the texture, light and forms within the images Croggon examines the possibilities and limits of pictorial abstraction and metamorphosis, seamlessly integrating dancers and athletes with details of modern architecture.

Zoë Croggon has a Bachelor of Fine Art from the Victorian College of the Arts with First Class Honours. She has held solo exhibitions at Daine Singer and the Melbourne Art Fair and has participated in group exhibitions at institutions including the National Gallery of Victoria, Centre for Contemporary Photography, Monash University Museum of Art, NGV Studio, Samstag Museum of Art, Ian Potter Museum of Art and the VCA Margaret Lawrence Gallery.

In 2017 Croggon will hold solo exhibitions at the National Gallery of Victoria, Gertrude Contemporary and her work will be exhibited at Heide Museum of Modern Art.
