Next date: Monday, 28 July 2025 | 01:00 PM to 04:00 PM

Emma Davies' weaving workshop offers insight into her practice and teaches you how to craft a small basket, or sculptural form, from repurposed materials. No weaving skills needed, just a willingness to listen, learn and have fun whilst exploring making in a playful way.

This workshop complements Emma's solo, Tethered Threads which transforms everyday items like baling twine into intricate, ethereal sculptures that explore the connection between nature and humanity.

Emma will talk about her work on display before delving into learning how to repurpose discarded materials into striking useable pieces. It's an opportunity to engage with a combination of reclaimed, recycled and purchased materials whilst learning about the themes of her exhibition.

We are privileged to be working with and supporting our Mornington Peninsula based artist in this exhibition and workshop. All levels of art making abilities are welcome, materials and afternoon tea provided, and you'll leave with your own handcrafted, eco-conscious basket.

If you do have poly mesh fruit and vegetable netting bags and/or nylon twine at home, bring these along and start repurposing your own materials!
