Form, Colour Play & Repetition Workshop with Eleesa Howard

Eleesa Howard_img1.jpg

In this workshop, participants will explore painting, colour, and pattern making, followed by construction of form using cardboard, newspaper, and other recycled paper materials. It is suitable for all skill levels and you'll have your own unique artwork to take home.

The session will begin with a short conversation between Dunja Rmandic and Eleesa Howard, talking through 21 bowls, 21 years, the work selected for NWOP 2024.

We will begin the making process by painting and marking recycled materials, focusing on blocking techniques, colour combinations, and patterns, and how these elements can be translated into three-dimensional objects.

After a short break with Middle Eastern refreshments, the workshop will shift focus to form-making, where participants will consider composition, layering, and the repetition of shapes, colours, and forms.

Participants will be encouraged to respond to the ideas of form and repetition in creative, personal and collective ways.

All materials are supplied. Please bring an apron, or wear art making clothes you don't mind getting messy. We can't wait to see what you create!
