Design and paint a 30cm x 30cm backdrop or ‘habitat’ and enjoy the tactile fun of creating figures, shapes and forms with air-dried clay. Experiment with vibrant colour and bring your beautiful shapes to life whilst assembling your diorama in a (suggested) box frame.

Inspired by Vera’s current exhibition sea.liquid.sensation.flux.space this workshop is a fantastic (and rare) opportunity to work with Vera in her magnificent, Moorabbin based studio.

We’ll serve coffee on arrival before Vera leads an inspirational tour of her space and a talk about creating the your three-dimensional diorama.

Note the frame is not supplied, however we will provide all professional art materials, paint, clay and making tools. Please bring an apron and a snack for lunch.

Vera Möller: After training as a biologist in Germany, Vera migrated to Australia in 1986. She later completed a Bachelor of Fine Art at the Victorian College of the Arts and a PhD at Monash University. Her work has been exhibited in the USA, Japan, Finland, France, Germany and the UK, as well as throughout Australia.

Reflecting on her original studies in the fields of Microbiology and Limnology (Freshwater Ecology), for the last two decades Möller’s projects have focused on the marine environments of the Great Barrier Reef and the Victorian coast, Port Phillip and Western Port Bays.
