Zoë Bastin: Waves Are Disturbances; you only see them when they break

Zoe Bastin_Waves are Disturbances.jpg

Waves Are Disturbances; you only see them when they break is an iterative site-specific project that engages with the ecologies, landscapes and stories of beaches and the communities that surround them. Waves become a poetic allegory to explore ideas of consent and control in personal and political contexts.

The choreography invites the audience to consider the intricate relationships between movement, interaction, and the ever-evolving world. The performance that unfolds explores how our bodies navigate external forces that overshadow our individual selves.

Waves Are Disturbances is presented by Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery with support from Mornington Peninsula Shire Council. Zoë Bastin is the Artist in Residence at Police Point Shire Park for November, 2023
