 What the judges said:

Collectively the works speak to our times in a multitude of ways: as reflections upon Country and the seasons, cultural and social histories, sensory evocations and material truths.

We were impressed by the innovative engagement with paper as both support and medium, from the most discrete and intimate of encounters to ambitious, architecturally-scaled installations and scenographies. It’s wonderful to see the transformation of a humble medium into such a diversity of forms full of perceptual revelation and delight and we appreciate the way artists have really pushed the boundaries of not only what paper can do but what it can symbolise.
