Art and Imagination is a free conversation-based program designed for people living with dementia at home and in aged care settings and their carers. Based on the award-winning Art and Dementia program by the National Gallery of Australia, Art and Imagination encourages a meaningful engagement with art, and supports people with dementia to interpret their experiences, express themselves and engage in conversation through group discussions. Hosted by our trained artist-educator and volunteers in a fun and supportive atmosphere, each session lasts about an hour and features three to four artworks. Participants receive printed copies of the discussed works to take home.
Sessions are offered by request for aged care services and community groups supporting people living with dementia, and monthly for individuals living at home and their carers.
For group bookings please contact us to arrange an Art and Imagination session on 03 59501580 or, mprg.mornpen.vic.gov.au
