Brendan Huntley: Hand building clay workshop

widnjtjk.png

Join artist Brendan Huntley for an engaging hand-building clay workshop at the Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery (MPRG). Perfect for all skill levels, this workshop offers a unique opportunity to explore your creativity through clay.

The program will begin with an artist talk so you have the opportunity to see Brendan's work and hear about his process and practices. The 'doing' will follow and will be for approx. 2 hrs.

Brendan, known for his innovative approach, will guide you through traditional form-making techniques, imbuing each piece with personality and allowing the clay to express itself. We will explore the interplay between disorder and control, the human face as a vehicle to understanding, and the way we mask ourselves.

This workshop welcomes all skill levels and encourages personal expression and experimentation. All materials are provided, and you'll leave with your own handcrafted artworks.

Don’t miss this chance to learn from a celebrated artist and delve into the explorative nature of clay in a supportive, creative environment.

Note: Pease bring a sturdy box to take your work home. If you wish to have it fired and glazed (after it has air dried) please talk to MPRG staff for assistance. Firing and glazing of your work will incur an additional cost.

Brendan Huntley’s work moves between sculpture, collage, drawing and painting. His tactile sculptures contrast playfulness and constraint, chaos and balance, and the organic handmade to the more precise machine-made. His vibrant paintings incorporate vivid colours and organic textures. Each medium allows Huntley to adjust his focus from micro to macro, touching upon what it is to be human in our shared environments.
