FBBB Closing Ceremony
After 22 days of remarkable art experiences across the Mornington Peninsula, Front Beach, Back Beach concludes its series of place-based art and performance works with a final celebratory event. In a precession that brings together the four artworks at Monmar, concluding at the tip of Fort Nepean overlooking the rip, the FBBB artists and the curators invite you to take in the sounds, the sights, the light, and the unique atmosphere of Monmar in the early evening. As the Front and Back Beaches physically converge, we celebrate and give thanks to this place. The farewell is a gathering, an acknowledgement of country and a ritual, with James Geurts offering a unique sculptural work at sunset in homage to the phenomenon of the standing wave. Join us for a Welcome to Country, BBQ and conversation with the curators and artists at the Quarantine Station before taking one final walk across this extraordinary landscape.
Attendance is free, however spaces are limited. We require registration so we can ensure that audience numbers are appropriate for the venue, and to ensure we can keep you notified with any updates.
