Figurative Sculpture Workshop
Next date: Monday, 05 May 2025 | 09:30 AM
to 04:30 PM
This sculptural experience will enable you to explore the foundations of getting started in creating the human figure in three-dimensional form. We will consider the proportions of the figure in terms of negative and positive space and the dynamics of movement and stylistic considerations.
The workshop will guide you through constructing and manipulating an armature (wire support), which serves as the foundation for your sculpture. Using a variety of materials—including wire, wood, tape, paper, plaster bandage, and cornice adhesive—you will bring your own artistic vision to life, creating a 40cm figure with a unique posture and form.
Led by Gregory Sukroo, an experienced instructor with over 35 years of expertise in three-dimensional art, this step-by-step workshop requires no prior experience—just enthusiasm and a willingness to explore!

- A step-by-step take home instruction booklet for notes & inspiration

Gregory Sukroo is a contemporary artist based on the Mornington Peninsula, specializing in three-dimensional sculpture. His work explores the interplay of forms, balance, and movement, with each surface guiding the directional flow of intersecting lines. Using both found and manipulated objects, Sukroo creates dynamic assemblages that invite wonder and shifting interpretations. Bold coloration unites multiple surfaces, enhancing the continuity and ambiguity within his sculptures. His distinctive approach has led to exhibitions in both public and private collections.
