"In conversation" with 2020 NWOP Winner, Annika Romeyn

Join Police Point artist in residence Annika Romeyn, winner of MPRG's 2020 National Works on Paper Prize alongside Danny Lacy MPRG Director, for an illuminating conversation discussing Annika's unique process and broader creative practice. An Open studio will follow the conversation, from 11.30am-1pm

Based in Canberra, and Inspired by the natural environment, Annika combines watercolour, drawing and printmaking processes to create intricate and immersive works on paper. Through large-scale watercolour monotype prints, she seeks to convey the humbling and restorative experience of walking in nature, with a focus on the threshold of rock and water. Annika was the winner of the Burnie Print Prize (Burnie Regional Art Gallery, Tasmania) in 2021 and winner of both the Fisher’s Ghost Art Award (Campbelltown Art Centre) and National Works on Paper prize (Mornington Peninsula Regional Gallery) in 2020.

Light morning tea provided. There is a gravel car park available (on the left) as you turn right into Franklands Drive, on entry to Point Nepean National Park. Please note there is a short 3 minute walk from the car park to the cottage, on a flat gravel path.
