School Holiday workshop expressive eyes

In this workshop participants will have the privilege of working with Archibald Prize 2023 finalist Alanah Ellen Brand.

Participants will explore how eyes can tell stories and then develop their paint-blending skills to create a tonal painting of an eye.

Participants will look at examples of eyes in the Archibald Prize 2023 and see how eyes can tell us a lot about a person such as if they are happy, excited or sad. Using these eyes as inspiration for their own eye painting, Alanah Ellen Brand will show participants how to blend acrylic paint on cartridge paper to create their own expressive eye painting.

Venue: Meet at MPRG for a brief look at selected the Archibald Prize 2023 portraits, then a two-minute walk to the Mornington Rose Garden meeting room for the workshop.

Eye template and all other materials provided.

Adult attendance welcome but not required.
