School holiday workshop with Alanah Ellen Brand

Alanah Ellen Brand is a fabulous teacher as well as an Archibald Prize 2023 finalist. Working on A3 watercolour paper, Alanah Ellen Brand will teach participants how to draw a subject and then how to use watercolour paint to add colour and life to your drawing.

She says, ‘Just as many of the Archibald Prize portraits are of people admired by the artist, in our workshop we will also create portraits of the people we admire. You could select a friend, actor, sports star, parent or guardian to paint in this workshop.’ Participants are encouraged to bring a photograph of the person they admire to assist them with their painting.

Venue:  Meet at MPRG for a brief look at selected Archibald Prize 2023 portraits, then a two-minute walk to the Mornington Rose Garden meeting room for the workshop.
