Join three distinguished voices from the worlds of contemporary art, writing, curating & jewellery for a free conversation exploring the work and legacy of internationally acclaimed artist Helen Britton. The Story So Far surveys more than two decades of her innovative and influential practice.

The discussion brings together Julie Ewington, one of Australia's most respected art writers & curators, Katie Scott, Director of Melbourne's renowned Gallery Funaki & Dunja Rmandic, Director of MPRG.

A writer, curator & broadcaster based in Sydney, Julie Ewington is an authority on contemporary Australian & Southeast Asian art, particularly the work of women artists. Her wide-ranging interests span feminism, cosmopolitanism, installation, jewellery, museum practice & cultural resistance. Julie first encountered Helen Britton's work in the late 1990s &, by her own account, "has never looked away." Her longstanding engagement with Britton's practice offers a rich lens through which to consider the artist's enduring contribution to contemporary jewellery and object-making.

Katie Scott is Director of Gallery Funaki, Australia's leading gallery dedicated to contemporary jewellery. Having worked closely with Helen Britton and presented her work over many years, Katie brings deep knowledge of Britton's practice & her significant influence on contemporary jewellery in Australia and internationally.

Together, they will reflect on Britton's remarkable career, her distinctive approach to materials & storytelling & the evolving place of contemporary jewellery within contemporary art.
