Waves Are Disturbances; you only see them when they break is an iterative site-specific project that engages with the ecologies, landscapes and stories of beaches and the communities that surround them. Waves become a poetic allegory to explore ideas of consent and control in personal and political contexts.
The choreography invites the audience to consider the intricate relationships between movement, interaction, and the ever-evolving world. The performance that unfolds explores how our bodies navigate external forces that overshadow our individual selves.
